What is Riva, and how does it work?

Riva‘s platform connects your Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software with the tools your teams use every day: email, calendars, and contacts. It automatically captures client interactions, keeps key information in sync across systems, and makes a complete, trustworthy engagement history available in your CRM so teams can follow through with confidence.

Does Riva store our customer data?

The best way to think of Riva Cloud is as an information straight pass-through architecture.

Riva acts as a bridge that interconnects multiple data systems together, allowing information to flow between data systems based on a policy-driven, rules-based, centralized configuration. Riva will detect changes to data, transform the data, and synchronize the changes. 

Unlike many other data sync solutions, Riva Cloud does not retain a copy of all your email messages, address books, calendar, or other CRM data. Riva Cloud uses a “read and forward” style data redirect allowing transfers of emails and other CRM data without actually persisting any of the personal data on the Riva Cloud data storage systems.

Is Riva secure and compliant?

Yes. Riva maintains third-party certifications and designations including SOC 2 Type 2, SOC1, SSAE 16, ISAE 3402, and aligns with data-privacy frameworks such as GDPR, MiFID, CCPA, and Australian Data Privacy. Riva also documents AWS-related certifications/compliance (e.g., PCI DSS, FISMA, ISO 27001) and follows a clear shared-responsibility model. 

Do I need to install anything on users’ machines?

No. Riva integrates CRMs and email systems without client-side plug-ins.

What deployment options are available?

Riva supports flexible deployments to meet data-residency needs — Riva’s cloud, your cloud, or on-premises.
