When Canada’s Top 100 Employers announced Alberta’s Top Employers (2025), Riva was thrilled to make the cut — and gratified to earn the honor for the fourth year running. “Joining this list of outstanding Alberta employers for a fourth consecutive year is confirmation of our efforts to create a supportive, rewarding work environment,” said CEO Aldo Zanoni. “The Alberta’s Top Employers distinction encourages us to redouble the efforts that continue to make Riva a great place to grow a career.”
When announcing this year’s list, award project coordinators highlighted a number of initiatives that demonstrate Riva’s commitment to employees — and to a culture that encourages strong collaboration, individual growth, and community engagement. The list of initiatives that earned recognition included:
- Feedback-driven philanthropy: Riva actively seeks and acts on employee input to identify those charitable organizations and initiatives the company will support each year.
- Support for community engagement: Riva encourages all employees to give back to their communities and backs that commitment by offering three paid days off each year for volunteer work.
- Ongoing employee development: Members of the Riva team are encouraged to pursue outside training and development opportunities. The company offers subsidies to support a range of growth and learning activities,, including online training, formal mentoring, paid internships, and courses through outside academic institutions.
- Commitment to a culture of inclusion: Each year, Riva hosts Viva la Riva, a multi-day, company-wide event that brings employees to Edmonton from around the world. The all-hands gathering features keynote speakers, growth-oriented workshops, leadership feedback sessions, and collaborative meetings — followed each day by team dinners and entertainment activities that bring the entire company together.
Riva’s efforts continue to play a meaningful role in the company’s continued growth. “We understand that every member of the Riva team plays a vital role in our success,” said Zanoni. “And recognition like Alberta’s Top Employers is essential to our efforts to raise awareness among professionals seeking a workplace where they can contribute, grow, and thrive.”
About Canada’s Top 100 Employers and Alberta’s Top Employers
Canada’s Top 100 Employers is an annual editorial competition that recognizes the best places in Canada to work. Since its inception in 1999, the project has worked to identify employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional working conditions and progressive human resources policies.
Alberta’s Top Employers, first published in 2006, is an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers. The competition evaluates employees based on eight criteria — including workplace, benefits, training, and community involvement — and recognizes Alberta employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.
