The inaugural Nebraska Summit marked a significant milestone for Salesforce professionals throughout the state. Organized by the Nebraska Summit planning committee and proudly sponsored by Riva, the event aimed to foster a robust network of Salesforce administrators, thought leaders, supporters, and technical and functional leads. The Summit promised a day of insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and the sharing of best practices among the state’s top minds in Salesforce technology.

The day began with an exclusive, invitation-only executive breakfast. This gathering, led by Salesforce’s Industry Advisor, Dr. Tom Green, brought together leadership from each attending institution. The intimate setting allowed for high-level discussions about the strategic direction of Salesforce implementations and the unique challenges faced by institutions in Nebraska. Dr. Green’s extensive experience and insights set the tone for a day dedicated to innovation and collaboration.

The main event started with a warm greeting from Dr. Rich Klein, Vice Chancellor of the University of Nebraska Omaha. His opening remarks underscored the importance of community and collaboration in the ever-evolving landscape of Salesforce technology. Dr. Klein highlighted the summit’s role in building a robust and interconnected network that can leverage shared knowledge and experiences to drive success across the state.

Following the welcome address, the Salesforce team took the stage to present an overview of the company’s vision for the future. This presentation focused on the integration of Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data, and Trust. The team illustrated how these elements are shaping the future of business operations and how institutions can harness these technologies to achieve their goals. The overview gave attendees a comprehensive understanding of Salesforce’s strategic direction and potential impact on their work.

The core of the summit consisted of three 45-minute roundtable discussions. These sessions were designed to facilitate in-depth conversations on critical topics relevant to Salesforce professionals:

  • Data Management and Reporting
Participants discussed best practices for managing data within Salesforce, including strategies for ensuring data accuracy and reliability. Attendees also learned about reporting techniques and tools like Riva Activity Capture that are capable of automating data analysis and reporting to provide reliable forecasts and actionable insights.
  • Governance and Compliance
This roundtable focused on the importance of governance in Salesforce implementations. Attendees shared their experiences in establishing governance frameworks, and learned about AI-enhanced solutions like Riva that boost data integrity — and ensure both data security and regulatory compliance.
  • Recruitment, Retention, and Marketing
This session explored strategies for using Salesforce to enhance recruitment and retention efforts. Participants also discussed leveraging Salesforce’s marketing and communication tools to engage with stakeholders effectively. These capabilities are further enhanced by solutions like Riva Sales Engagement and Bookings, which work together in education settings to streamline the content development, email cadences, and scheduling necessary to serve students, faculty, and administrators alike.

The Nebraska Summit brought together 66 registered attendees from eight institutions across the state. This diverse group of professionals benefited from the collaborative environment, gaining new perspectives and practical solutions to their challenges. The summit laid the groundwork for a strong network of Salesforce professionals in Nebraska, poised to drive innovation and excellence in their respective fields.

As a company dedicated to enhancing Salesforce engagements, Riva is proud to support initiatives that bring together the community and foster growth and collaboration.

As the event concluded, attendees left with a renewed sense of purpose and knowledge to apply to their work. The Nebraska Summit planning committee and Riva look forward to building on this success in future events and continuing to strengthen the Salesforce community in Nebraska.
